Flow Bench Facts to Expand Your Knowledge Base

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | July 25, 2022

The ability of an engine to take in air and use it as fuel is the most crucial factor in determining how much power it can produce, regardless of the size of the engine. We are looking for the least possible restriction to the airflow at every stage, beginning with the air filter and working…

Facts to Know About Flow Bench Testing – Part Two

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | July 10, 2022

Flow bench testing appears simple on the surface, but it is not. Cubic feet per minute (cfm) statistics have become the industry’s exclusive focus since they are so easy to manipulate, neglecting other data concerning the cylinder head’s performance. You may think that flow bench testing would be simple. However, this is incorrect and will…

Cold Hard Facts to Know About Chassis Dyno Testing

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | July 5, 2022

In the past twenty years, chassis dynos operating in shops have increased across the country dramatically, making it theoretically possible for the masses to evaluate their engine’s performance as it is installed in the vehicle and compare the results with their friends’ cars. In practice, this has made it possible for enthusiasts to compete with…

Different Final Drive Ratios Impact Dyno Readings – Get the Downlow How that Happens Here

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | July 2, 2022

Interpreting Dyno reading when it comes to different final drive ratios provide a difficult obstacle. To begin, there is a potential for disparity because the various gears each have their distinct values for inertia, produce a greater degree of friction, and modify the amount of tire sliding. All these factors contribute to the fact that…

The Pluses and Minuses of a Hemi Engine

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | June 11, 2022

At the very least, among those who are mechanically inclined, the term “hemi” conveys a lot of connotations. Having a home is something to be proud of; not having one may cause you to blush when the four-letter word is spoken. Even if the term “hemi” has a lot of force, emotions and fundamental knowledge…

Synthetic Oil is Expensive – Is the Higher Cost Worth It?

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | June 8, 2022

Until recently, synthetic oil was mainly employed in high-performance vehicles. It is now found in an increasing number of conventional automobiles. Because of its low viscosity, synthetic oil is being used in more cars than ever before, according to Consumer Reports. Blended or synthetic oil might account for as many as 70% of new automobiles…

A Breakdown of What a Spoiler Does for Your Vehicle

By WestCoastSuperFastHPE | June 2, 2022

To lower wind resistance (or drag), spoilers are designed to alter the airflow above, around, and below cars. By “spoiling” airflow, they lessen the detrimental consequences of that airflow. This, in turn, increases downforce and increases traction at high speeds. During the 1960s, spoilers began to appear on race cars and other high-performance vehicles to…
